County Council has proclaimed October 19, 2017 as Conflict Resolution Day -- a global event, intended to promote the concept of peaceful conflict resolution. In Alberta, the Dispute Resolution Network partners with non-profit organizations to support and promote events that raise awareness about the many approaches to preventing and resolving conflict.
Public Notice -- Development Permits
Smoky Lake County is responsible for maintenance of all Road Right-of-ways which measures a minimum of 66 feet from property line to property line. As previously communicated – any type of farming procedure is prohibited within this right-of-way. Persons conducting prohibited actions within County Right-of-way are subject to fines under Bylaw #1241-12 “Respecting Road Right-of-way”. Example: seeding and/or cultivating up to the shoulder of a road.
